1. Who We Are
Solo Scores is made by Aled Jones, a sole trader trading as Solo Apps in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are the controller of your personal data under UK data protection law. You can contact us at any time at info@soloapps.co.uk.
2. Information We Collect
- Account details: your name, email address, profile picture and the account identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive the relay address instead of your real email.
- Your content: the PDF files you import, and the scores, collections, playlists, tags and annotations you create.
- Sharing details: the email addresses of people you invite, and the collections and playlists you share with them.
- Usage and diagnostics: how you use the app (such as screens opened, actions taken and errors), performance data, your device model, operating system and app version, and an approximate location (city and country) worked out from your IP address.
- Feedback: the messages you send us and, if you choose to include it, diagnostic information about your device and the app.
- Server logs: IP addresses and details of requests made to our servers.
3. How We Use It
- To provide the service: signing you in, storing and syncing your scores across your devices, and sharing them with the people you choose. We rely on this being necessary for our contract with you.
- To keep the app working, secure and improving: finding and fixing errors, measuring performance and preventing abuse. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a reliable service.
- To respond to your feedback and support requests.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Sharing With Other Users
When you share a collection or playlist, the people you share it with can see your name, email address and profile picture, and the content you have shared. Annotations added to a score's shared layer are visible to everyone who can open that score.
5. Service Providers
We use these providers to run Solo Scores. They process data only on our instructions:
- Railway: hosting for our servers, database and file storage.
- PostHog (EU servers): usage analytics and error tracking.
- Anthropic: AI playlist suggestions. When you use this feature we send your request and the titles and details of scores in your library, but not your PDF files.
- Atlassian (Jira): recording feedback and account deletion requests.
- Apple and Google: signing in, and App Store and Google Play purchases.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
6. International Transfers
Some of our providers are based in, or store data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where this happens we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
7. How Long We Keep It
We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. Usage data, diagnostics and server logs are kept only as long as we need them to run and improve the service, and are then deleted.
8. Deleting Your Account
You can request deletion in the app under Help, Offline Use, Sync & Account, "How do I delete my account?", or by following the steps on our account deletion page. We delete your account within 14 days. This removes your account, the collections and playlists you own (including for anyone you shared them with), their PDF files, and every annotation you have made, including on scores shared with you.
9. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of data you have given us. To make a request, email info@soloapps.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, files are only available through short-lived links, and access is checked on our servers for every request. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
11. Children
Solo Scores is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will tell you in the app about any significant changes, and the date above always shows when it was last updated.
